HEAL (Health
Education Assets Library)
HEAL's primary mission is to provide educators with
high-quality and free multimedia materials (such as images and videos) to
augment health sciences education. The current collection now consists of over
2,000 images, sounds, and videos covering the areas of dermatology, obstetrics
and gynecology, neuroanatomy, neurology, pathology, biochemistry, and
cardiology.
MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online
Teaching)
MERLOT is a free international
cooperative for high quality online resources to improve learning and teaching
within higher education. Links to online multimedia learning materials are
collected here along with annotations such as peer reviews and assignments. The
Science and Technology section includes Biology and Health Science materials.
RxList:
The Internet Drug Index The RxList database consists primarily
of products currently on the US Market or close to approval.
Food
and Drug Administration FDA is a public health agency, charged
with protecting American consumers by enforcing the Federal Food, Drug,
and Cosmetic Act and several related public health laws.

and Drug Administration • Center for Drug Evaluation and Research The Center is involved in New Drug
Development and Review, Generic Drug Review, Over-the-Counter Drug Review,
and Post Drug Approval Activities. Included in the drug information
section is a list of new and generic drug approvals, information on major
drugs, over-the-counter drugs, and drug safety and side effects.
AAMC Extramural Electives Compendium
The Extramural Electives Compendium (EEC) contains essential information for medical students about elective opportunities at Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accredited medical schools in the United States and Canada.

of Science Community of Science, Inc. (COS) is
a network of scientists and research organizations on the World Wide Web.

CRISP CRISP (Computer Retrieval of Information

- Fellowship and Residency Electronic Interactive Database FREIDA Online is a database containing
information on approximately 7,500 graduate medical education programs
that are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education
(ACGME), as well as on 200 combined specialty programs. By defining and
prioritizing various selection criteria, you can select several programs
or focus on a specific program for viewing.

Resident Matching Program (NRMP) The National Resident Matching Program
(NRMP) provides a uniform date of appointment to positions in graduate
medical education (GME). It provides an impartial venue for matching
applicants' and programs' preferences for each other consistently.
Advance
Data of Vital and Health Statistics These reports provide early release
of data from the National Center for Health Statistics' health and demographic
surveys. Many of these releases are followed by detailed reports in the

Health Care Indicators contains data
and analysis of recent trends in health care spending, employment, and
prices. The National Health Statistics Group tracks trends in health
care related industries and presents this information quarterly.
These data are valuable for understanding the relationship between the
health care sector and the overall economy.

Center for Health Statistics NCHS is the Federal Government's principal
vital and health statistics agency. It is a part of the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention and includes include data on vital events as well
as information on health status, lifestyle and exposure to unhealthy influences,
the onset and diagnosis of illness and disability, and the use of health
care.
Safety
and Health Statistics The Bureau of Labor Statistics annually
reports on the number of workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.
Such information is useful in identifying industries with high rates or
large numbers of injuries, illnesses and fatalities both nationwide and
separately for those States participating in this program.
